This roundabout is located in a privileged spot, offering beautiful views of the Cingles de Bertí and the town of Sant Feliu de Codines. It serves as a welcoming point for travelers and a link between the landscape and the village.
In the past, people used to cultivate olive trees and grapevines here; furthermore, Sant Feliu de Codines is located in a region known for its wheat mills and lies at the crossroads of ancient paths dating back to Roman times.
The millstones emerge from the earth and rise until they give birth to the tree, their most important fruit. Recovered from the Llobateres mill (in Sant Quirze de Safaja), they represent a forward-looking vision and are born from the flag of Catalonia.
The stones stand tall and proud, and together with the olive tree, form the Catalan flag on a vertical plane.
Red defines the Catalan flag. The red bed of millstones is the main axis which, intersected by another terracotta axis, forms the cross of Saint George, patron saint of Catalonia and a symbol of courage and valor.
The ascending stones symbolize the aspiration for a better future than the present; meanwhile, the olive tree rests on a triangular plane filled with serenity. Needless to say, this triangular plane represents Catalonia.
