Saulons d’en Deu

We were asked to redesign the central area of a garden from the 1970s. The space to be worked on has four visible sides and a significant slope. The chosen solution is a system of cubes at different levels that alternate vegetation in corridors and color schemes. A gradient of hues, from white to blue, passing through yellow and red, brings year-round color to the garden.

Order and disorder alternate with the seasons: plants grow exuberantly in summer to provide shade, then shed their leaves in winter to open the garden to the sun. The trimmed boxwood cubes bring solidity and stability to the space. Finally, water flows from one cube to another, bringing life to the space and integrating the new design with an existing pond.
