The fir that guards the south: the Spanish fir (Pinsapo)

Abies pinsapo, the southernmost fir in Europe, grows in protected enclaves between Andalusia and the Rif Mountains. A symbol of the Mediterranean, it embodies ancestral resilience and stands as a living witness to the natural history of the Iberian Peninsula.

Wild geraniums or grasses with seed heads

Sustainable gardening project with progressive development on a 1-hectare plot. Two mass planting proposals are presented, both low-maintenance: Pelargonium spp. and Pennisetum spp., selected based on criteria of resilience, cost-efficiency, and visual impact.

A different model of gardening by the year 2050

Climate warming demands resilient gardens with reduced irrigation. Excessive watering leads to shallow roots and dependent trees. We must dig and gradually reduce watering to encourage deep root systems and support vegetation with fewer resources.
